Review & Swatches - CND Vinylux Forbidden Collection

Hello!

Today I have for you the CND Vinylux Forbidden Mini Collection. CND Vinylux is a weekly polish system and I've already done a full wear test and review on the system so you should definitely check that out to learn more about Vinylux.

The Forbidden Mini Collection includes six mini polishes and one mini bottle of the Vinylux Weekly Top Coat. Check out my swatches and thoughts on this set below!

Blue Rapture is a dusty, slightly greyed medium blue creme. It had a great creamy formula and I've shown two coats below.

Burnt Romance is a warm brick brown creme. Looking at this in the bottle I was sure it wasn't going to work well with my skin tone, but I ended up liking it more than I expected. I still think it will look better on those with darker or tanned skin, though. It applied well and I used two coats.

Dark Dahlia is a very deep vampy purple creme. For all intents and purposes, this polish is black because you can really only tell that it's purple under direct light, and even then it's hard to say. The formula felt thin on the first coat but evened out perfectly after the second.

Night Glimmer is a browned gunmetal shimmer with a touch of green. This is an interesting colour - very hard to describe. The formula was very thick, yet oddly not hard to work with. My swatch shows two coats.

Steel Gaze is a browned silver base with a touch of olive and lots of gold micro glitter. This one is easily my favourite from the collection; I don't think I own anything quite like it. The formula was good, though a little sheer to begin with so I did need three coats for full coverage.

Tinted Love is a deep purple-toned red creme. The formula was great and I needed just two coats.

Overall, this is a nice mini collection and since I've had great success with the CND Vinylux system, I'm happy to be adding some more Vinylux shades to my stash. My favourites from this set are Blue Rapture and Steel Gaze.

CND Vinylux polishes can be purchased from Nail Polish Canada. The Forbidden Mini Collection seems to be sold out at the moment, but you can sign up to receive a notification when it's back in stock.
