Swatch Comparison - Silver Foils (featuring OPI Your Royal Shine-ness)

Hey guys!

I'm trying to write his post as quickly as possible as I have an exam later today that I'm cramming for so I apologize if there's any spelling or grammatical errors along the way, haha.

Today I have a comparison of 7 silver foil polishes which I promised to do for you in my last post where I reviewed/swatches the second OPI Serena Williams Glam Slam! England duo. That duo includes a sparkly silver foil called Your Royal Shine-ness that many have been saying is a standard silver foil. However, I thought it was a little different than your average silver foil polish so I dug out most all of the silver polishes that I own that come even close to this one and compared them all on one nail wheel.

Hopefully this comparison will help you decide if this duo is one that you would like to add to your own stash.

Keep reading for the comparison!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City, OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, China Glaze Cheers to You, OPI Your Royal Shine-ness

OPI Your Royal Shine-ness, China Glaze Platinum Silver, Nicole by OPI Give Me the 1st Dance, Nicole by OPI Positive Energy Matte

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City (permanent)

OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous (from the Fall 2010 Swiss Collection)

China Glaze Cheers to You (from the Holiday 2010 Collection)

OPI Your Royal Shine-ness (from one of the two Serena Williams Glam Slam! England duos)

China Glaze Platinum Silver (permanent)
I know this one is a frosty silver instead of a silver foil but I decided to include it because the majority of the other silvers I have are limited edition ones from older collections, so I wanted to include as many permanent shades as I could.

As you can see, there are definitely no dupes here for OPI Your Royal Shine-ness, and hopefully this has helped you guys to understand why I didn't think that it should be called a standard silver foil.

In my mind, the standard silver foils here would be Celeb City, Cheers to You and Give Me the 1st Dance; Your Royal Shine-ness seems to have more depth than all of these, it's a tad darker, and a bit dirty looking.

It's kind of close to Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous (especially in regards to formula), but Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous is clearly darker than Your Royal Shine-ness.

Most people would be content with just having 1 silver foil polish, and most might not even be able to tell the difference between some of these without the super close-up photos, but fellow polish fiends will definitely be able to see the differences and might actually want to pick up Your Royal Shine-ness, just because it's not your standard silver foil.

I hope this comparison has helped some of you make up your minds about Your Royal Shine-ness!

I love comparison posts! I just did a couple over on my blog and was able to shed a couple polishes from my collection (room to buy many many more... muahaha!:))

Love silver polishes. Do you have OPI's 'Birthday Babe'? I think it would fit in really well here, but definitely still wouldn't qualify as a dupe for 'Your royal shine-ness'. It has officially been added to my long list of wants!
