Hi! Welcome to Nails by Kayla Shevonne!

I'm 25 years old and live in my home province of Newfoundland, Canada with my fiance David and our pet hedgehog Mr. Salty (who you'll see photos of from time to time). I'm a university graduate where I studied sociology, psychology and criminology.

My passion for nail polish/nail art is a huge part of my life and I love having a place where I can share that. In fact, my passion for all things nails has actually led me to a career in the nail industry! I completed my first nail course in basic manicuring back in March of 2011 and then I completed a full nail technician course in May of 2013. I'm currently working out of my in-home salon.

Nails by Kayla Shevonne has gone through quite an evolution over the almost three years that I've been blogging. As some of you might know, I originally started out as a general beauty blogger!

"Beauty by Kayla Shevonne" would feature everything from looks of the day posts to makeup collection swatches to makeup hauls and then there was the scattered nail related post. However, the deeper I became engrossed in the makeup and beauty community, the more interested in nails and nail art I became. So in a way, makeup was sort of a gateway drug into nail art for me!

Eventually, nail polish and nail art related posts took over and Nails by Kayla Shevonne was born. I still have an interest in makeup and all other things beauty related, but my love for nail polish has pretty much trumped all other interests. I'm proud of the evolution that Nails by Kayla Shevonne has gone through and I'm very happy that it led me to my one true passion - nails.

With that said, this blog is to share my tips, knowledge, ideas, inspirations and opinions on all things nails. I hope you enjoy!
